yup I know

So obviously I really suck at keeping up on my blog. Yup I just don't put the time into working on it. It looks like its been more than a year since I last posted so I'll try to up date this the best I can.
Here we go.

So my last post was January 11, 2012 that makes a lot of time to update.

February 29 Ethan was able to go snowboarding with his school. Nick ditched work to go with Ethan.
Ethan had such a great time and now wants to own a snowboard and go all the time.
March 9th 2007 at 5:15pm Blake Raymond Dragon was born. He was 7lb 15oz and 21" long. Blake is such a funny boy and so sweet. I imagine that he will be on tv someday .
At my last doctors appointment my doctor told me that "this baby could come any day, if he doesn't come on his own I'll see you bright and early on the 9th". Blake decided to wait those 3 days. I remember telling Ethan and Matthew that the next time they saw me they would have a new brother. Once at the hospital the nurse told me to just relax and wait for my baby to be born. I think it was 4pm and I had just been checked by the nurse and was still at a 5. After she left I heard Nick sighed I asked him "what" he said "do you know how long we have been here?". I really hadn't been paying attention. I was relaxing (as much as you can when in labor) like the nurse told me to. Nick informed me that it had been 9 hours since we got to the hospital and will the other boys I would of had them by now. That's when I started to think about why we were there. I sat up in bed and imagined my son progressing. Within 20 minutes I was hurting pretty bad and the nurse checked me again, this time I was at a 8 and it was time for my epidural. I received my epidural and the stupid anesthesiologist told me to lay down mostly on my back. Ugh I knew I should not have listened to him when he said "you don't want it all to go to your butt". Well yes I did want most of it to go to my butt instead of going up my back like it did. The nurse checked me again and he was ready. I'm really glad that I only had to push 3 times cause my epidural was NOT down in my butt (cause I listened to the stupid anesthesiologist) ouch. Once he was in my arms I saw he's super cute dimple and birthmark on his thigh. Ethan was so excited to get to hold Blake but Matthew didn't even want to touch him.

March 17, 2012 The House hunting began. This was fun, exciting, stressful and very emotional. I would find a house and it would sell before we even got a chance. Some houses would look great online but be crap in person. We would drive around neighborhoods what we wanted to live in hoping to find a for sale sign.
Near the end of March we found our house. April 4th the house was inspected and everything was great. It passed! Now we had to wait for all the paperwork to get done. The waiting game was killing me. Packing my house up with two little kids who would unpack a box as soon as I turned my back. I did have wonderful neighbors who took Kaitlyn and Blake to their house so I could pack uninterpreted.

Easter 2012
We went egg hunting at the Masonic Temple in Salt Lake. The kids had such much fun. No one was run over and all of them got tons of eggs.

April 15 Happy 12th Anniversary!
Holy crap Nick and I have been married for 12 years. I can't imagine my life without this amazing man by my side. I believe that I have become such a better person since I met him. He has given me the support and confidence to believe in myself. Together we have made an amazing life. We have had our hard times but have come out better from them. This year we went out to dinner at Jasoh's in Ogden and ate some amazing food. Yummy beer cheese and fresh pretzels!
April 28 MOVING DAY!!!!!
We moved into our home this wonderful day. Once in the house we found out that the stupid previous owners had the gas turned off (27th they moved out 28th we moved in, why turn it off??) and of course the weather turns cold and rainy and we need the heater. Nick, the brilliant man that he is, turns the oven on in the mornings so that when the kids get up for school they don't freeze.
Because Ethan and Matthew only had a few weeks left of school we didn't want to take them out of the school right at the end so Nick would drive them 10 miles, 20 minute drive from our new house to school and in the afternoon I would make the same drive (double it for the round trip). To add to the stress Ethan and Matthew were playing baseball every day of the week but Friday. Also Nick was the coach for Matthews team. Some days I would leave the house at 2 with pb&j sandwiches for all of us for dinner we would meet Nick at the baseball park and we wouldn't make it home till 7pm. Such a super stressful time for us. All this time away from the house made it very had to unpack things and make it our home.
May 6th I was moving the couch and my toenail got ripped off my big toe. It hurt so freak'n bad and hurt for months and months.
May 25th Thunderbird's
Nick and I got the amazing opportunity to meet The Thunderbird's. This was just so cool and I took lots of photos. We were able to meet all of them but missed getting two pictures.

June 4th Danica's Baby Shower
I was able to give my sister Danica a baby shower. I had lots of fun getting everything together and planning games for everyone to play. Danica is such a cute prego lady. For some reason I can't find any photos from the shower but I did find this cute one of Danica.

June 11th Ethan's Championship Game
Ethan's baseball team the Angles played their 1st championship game. The boys did such a great job. Everyone played so well. I'm so freak'n proud of how hard my son has worked to become the great baseball player he is.
                              THE ANGLES WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
now on to game two.      GO ANGLES

June 13th was the big final game. The Angles played very well. The game was so very close but they did not win. The boys should all be very proud of themselves. I'm proud to know that all of our boy got to play regardless of  their skills unlike other teams who have only their best players play and bench the other boys.
Every single boy played their best especially my son Ethan who played his very best game.

June 18
Kaitlyn's hair just wont grow very fast. Its driving me nuts. By the time my boys were one they all had lots of hair but not my little girl. Oh no her hair just wont grow but I was finally able to get her hair into piggy tails.
Summer fun
During our first summer in our home we always had someone over. The kids made friends quickly with the wonderful kids who live across the street. We truly were blessed to have such great neighbors.

Blake had a very hard time learning to ride his bike when he first got it. We decided that we would try to teach him to ride without his training wheels. Once the wheels were off he just took off. What we learned was that his training wheels were so tight that they were making so hard to peddle so that's where all the difficulty came from.

4th of July bbq at Adam and Brittany's home. Kaitlyn and Carson sure got dirty. They did have a great time.
 Boy was it hot.

Every year we go camping as a family. The kids had so much fun climbing on the rock.

Every year we go to the Pops concert and fireworks at Weber State University. It is one of our favorite things to do. We all love hearing the beautiful music while watching the sky fill with fireworks and then near the end they fire cannons.

August 4th we went to Rocky Mountain Raceway for the Scottish Rite Learning center fundraiser. It was so freak'n hot the boys and I just roasted in the sun. We really liked the train where two cars are chained together. The front car has the engine and the back car has the breaks. They drive around the figure eight track trying to not hit each other. Lots of fun.

August 25th Daxton Joseph Dragon was born today at 11:23 A.M. weighing 7.11 lbs and 21 in. long after 12 hours of labor:) Congratulations Brian and Danica. He is beautiful. Danica was so strong during this difficult labor and brought a beautiful health boy into our family.
North Davis Preparatory Academy

Blake's first day of kindergarten
Yes I did cry. Blake was the first of my boys that was worried about going to school. I have to say I loved it.

Ethan's 1st day of 5th grade

Matthew's 1st day of 3rd grade
Matthew says that he was nervous to start school at a new school. He was really missing his friends.

Alright I'll call that good for now that's a lot of updating. Enjoy and hopefully I'll get to finishing very soon.

Kaitlyn Lorainne Dragon

Kaitlyn was born Monday January 11, 2010 at 12:15pm. She weighed 7lbs 4ozs. and was 21" long.
Kaitlyn's birth story is amazing. I wish every woman can have such an amazing and easy birth. I'll start the story.

The Dr. scheduled my induction for 01-11-10. He believed that I would have the baby before that since I had been fully effaced and dilated to a 4 since thanksgiving. This had us both worried. The Dr had me take it easy so that the baby could make it closer to her due date.
Nick and I arrived at the hospital at 7am. Filled out all the paperwork and then were put in my birthing suite at 7:40am.
The very nice nurse hooked me up to pitocin and checked me (4cm) at about 8am . Nick and I started watching tv and set in for the wait, cause you never know how long it will take.
The Dr came to visit at 8:30am checked me (I was at a 4 1/2) and to break my water. That is always icky but exciting. Nick and I then watched more tv, trying to find something to pass the time. The nurse told me that the anesthesiologist was about a half hour away so I would need to let them know when I wanted my epidural 30 min before I needed it.
At about 11:30 I was starting to hurt so I told the nurse that it was time for the epidural, she checked me and I was at 5cm.
About 11:50 the anesthesiologist came in. Between contractions I got my epidural.
With my other labors I progress really fast after I get my epidural. Usually having my babys within the hour. I think this happens because I relax. I told this to the anesthesiologist. He said that would be nice and said he would come back to check on me in 10 min to see if I need and adjustment. He had to leave fast because the lady nextdoor needed him. This was at about 12pm.
I laid back in the bed and tried to relax but I started to have this strange pain in my left leg. Nick helped me to roll onto my side. But the pain wouldn't go away. I figured that the epidural wasn't getting there and that all I needed to do was wait a bit longer. Nick insisted that I call the nurse and tell her what was going on. I did what he said and the nurse came in. She said she would check me. The nurse said "oh that's why, she's crowning". That's what the odd pain in my leg was. It's a good thing I listened to my husband.
The nurse called in other nurses and the doctor. I was told not to push, they wouldent even let me sit up. The doctor rushed to get his scrubs on and the nurses rushed to get all the baby equipment ready.
The doctor said "I guess she's ready. You have two choices. One, you can give one small push or just let her come out on her own."
I laughed and she was out. Still can't believe I laughed my baby out. She was perfect! The nurse told me that she has never given a baby a perfect apgar score but she gave one to Kaitlyn.
I went from 5cm to complete in less than 15 minutes. The anesthesiologist came back in to check on me to find I'd already had the baby. He said "wow that was fast". I told him I would go fast. I just didn't know it would be that fast. I guess Kaitlyn was ready to be out.

Now at that time she wasn't Kaitlyn. We hadn't decided on a name just yet. You see with Nick and I if we pick a name before the baby is born we are almost guaranteed not to use that name. Going into the hospital the name we had picked was Vitoria. This name means victorious. We were "victorious" at having a girl. We also loved Fiona. Because of Shrek everyone who hears the name thinks of a green ogre but we picked it because of the kick ass character on Burn Notice. Fiona is a strong, beautiful woman, just like we want our daughter to be. We also loved the names Kaitlyn and Makayla. We were leaning towards Vitoria because it was different and meaningful. The problem was that after holding my baby I couldn't give such a tiny thing a name like that, it just didn't fit.

It was so much fun watching my boys with their new sister.

 She climbs everything.

Since that day we have had so much fun. Everyone told me how different a girl was going to be but I didn't thing it would be this different. If something spills she will run to get a towel and clean it up. She helps with chores. Kaitlyn is so smart. She loves shoes and dresses herself.
I am so grateful to have her in my life. I sure do love my Kaitlyn.

new blogs for birthdays

So for this year I plan on blogging on my kids birthdays about them. Thinks like their birth stories and things they have done since then. Here's hoping I can keep up with my plan. :)

Well I feel stupid

Last night (Oct 3rd) at about 11pm I'm laying in bed listening to Nick snore wishing I could go to sleep as fast as he does when I hear loud rapid knocking on my front door. I quickly get out of bed, put a rob on and go down stairs fully expecting to have no one at the door.
We get a lot of door bell ditching here.
I turn the porch light on, unlock the deadbolt and open the door. Just as I'd expected, no one's there. I do see two people out in the street, about 60 feet away, wearing all black walking away from my house.
I shut the door, lock it, turn the light off and start up the stairs when a very bright light shines in my front window. I figure that this is some of the neighbor boys and now that they know I'm up their going to mess with me and come back and knock on the door again.
I stand next to the door and wait for them to knock then I fling open the door and yell "HAY".
This is the part where I feel stupid.
Standing on my porch is a police officer. I apologize to him and explain that we often get door bell ditched and that I thought that that's what he was doing.
The officer tells me that my neighbor had been door bell ditched and then they went out to check they had heard voices coming from my backyard and that there has been a lot of home burglary's in my neighborhood and my garage door is open.
So this very nice and concerned police officer had knocked on my door to let me know that my garage was open and help me so that out house doesn't scream "come steal everything from this house" and I fling the door open and yell at him. Ugh so very embarrassed.
So very sorry Layton City Police Officer who came to my house and thank you for helping us and keeping us safe.
Still don't know how the garage door got open. I've been parking in the driveway because Nick is replacing the engine in the car of one of his coworkers. So there is no reason for the garage door to be opened.

family, fireworks, food and fun

Hello everyone :)
Wow we have has so many good times lately I just can't believe it. Yes that means that this blog post will be a happy one without complaining. Amazing right :) lol.
Well guess I will begin with July 2nd.
Nick and I spend about an hour getting ribs ready for the smoker. I hate cleaning the smoker but it is worth every minute of scrubbing. The problem with smoking meat is that you smell it all day long and it just makes you so freak'n hungry. I'm sure your thinking "ya right that's a problem" but when it's 8 to 10 hours of waiting and waiting and waiting for that yummy yummy meat to come off the smoker is torture. Delicious torture but torture just the same. Nick and I love cooking for others, to see their faces when they see what we have made for them. It brings joy into our lives by doing something so small. This was our first time smoking beef ribs (brother-in-law doesn't eat pork) and well they didn't turn out so well. So very sorry Stryder. Bringing in the 6 lb bag of meat was kinda funny. Here comes the meat delivery man. I can just see Nick walking down the street yelling.
"Smoked ribs for sale, who want's to buy a rib?,  $1 a rib. Smoked ribs for sale" hahaha

We had sparklers for the kids and luckily no one was hurt even a little bit. Crystal and Jon's neighbors had spend major money and put our small box of ground fountains to shame but crazy Stryder out did them when he held the large box fountain in his hand lol.
Can't believe how much fun it is when we all get together. Sure wish Corie and Stryder didn't live in AZ so we could get together all the time.

July 3rd.
Oh so much fun playing in the pool in the backyard. I get all my kids to line up so I can put sunblock on them. Blake was last and while slathering him in sunblock I am rubbing his adorable belly telling him how cute it is when he says " girls don't like fat belly's" :( what the heck he's 4 who told him that. I love my little monkeys round belly it is just the cutest thing ever. But I do have to say that him saying that was funny.
Dinner was with the Dragon family. This was the 1st time we were able to see Brian and Danica. They came down from Colorado for a little vacation time from the army. Time just never lasts long enough.

July 4th.
Out the door by 9am so we can get a good spot at Kaysville City's parade. OOOO I love taking my kids to parades. Love watching them get excited as they see a cool float go by or someone throws lots of candy their way. If you think about it its free joy for children. Usually for the 4th of July parade we roast it is so hot but this year the temperature could not have been better. It sprinkled a bit but that just make it even better. To make the time even more fun my little sister Corie, her husband Stryder and my niece Ava were able to come with us. Having family with us just makes times better.

 Slurpee's to stay cool yummy

Kaitlyn giving Corie a smile

she kept giving Stryder the stink eye

Every year us mom's get together for lunch this is our mothers day gift to each other and our self's. This year it happened just so happened to be the 4th of July. We went to Buca Di Beppo. Food was good but the company was so much better. Just so much fun hanging out just us girls getting to talk about whatever we want. Really wish we could do this more often. I love all of you so very much couldn't ask for better sisters and mom.

FIREWORKS. Love fireworks. Thinking that I pretty much love everything that has to do with Independence Day. This was the first year that we didn't go into the craziness. We went to the park right next to Grandma Grace's apartment. Sitting out under the stars watching my kids run around making new friends is so nice then you add the fireworks show and family then it becomes a wonderful time that you don't forget.

July 6th
Uncle Brian and Aunt Danica took my boys swimming. My boys were so excited that first thing in the morning they put their swimsuits on. So starting at 8am 3 boys were running around the house in swimsuits asking every 2 seconds "when are they gonna get here". lol such funny boys so excited to go have fun with their aunt and uncle. The boys all lined up so I could put sunblock on them before they left for their fun in the sun. Kaitlyn was in line too. She knows that when I put sunblock on the boys that its time to go outside and play in the water. Poor girl didn't know that she wasn't going with her brothers. When Brian and Danica got here the boys ran out the door and practically jumped in the car. Kaitlyn kept climbing in the car, she wanted to go too.  I had all these plans for the day without my boys. Thinking of all the fun stuff that I would do with my baby girl. I should know better than to make plans, every time I do something happens and my plans go to crap. I ended up doing a lot of running around. This was still a lot more fun with just my Katiedoo. Got to say it feels odd driving that big durango around with just us two.
Brian and Danica were able to stay for dinner but Nick had a meeting in Salt Lake so he missed out on visiting.
Supper big thanks to Brian and Danica for braving the pool with my little monsters I know that they had a great time. Blake has even asked me when you will take him swimming again.

well I've got to stop and make dinner even though I still have stuff to say but that's life ;)

crap

I have realized that my blog sucks. I don't know how to write so that anyone will enjoy what they are reading so it really does suck plus most of what I post is me complaining and I know that that's no fun to read. This realization is why I haven't blogged for a while. So the plan is to tone down the complaining and research how to write in a somewhat entertaining way.

6-29-11

Last night was Nick's work summer party. The party was at Brigham City Park, this is the half way mark between those at McKay Dee and those at Logan Regional. On the way there it rained but this was a good thing cause it brought the temperature down.
Dinner was yummy chicken, rolls and baked potatoes from Maddox. Everyone brought a dessert. Mine was this yummy strawberry streusel shortcake.

The kids all had turns hitting the pinata then it was time for the games. I don't know what the name of the game is but its a type of tag. Everyone is in a big circle and they link one arm with a partner. There are two people who run, the person who is it and the person being chased. The person who is being chased must run around the circle at least one time than then they may link arm's with anyone. This makes a threesome the person on the other end is now being chased. If the chaser tags the other person then they are now it.
I have seen children play this game and think that I played it when I was a lot younger but I've never seen grown adults play. It way very funny watching Nick with his long legs run around the circle. At one point Matthew was it and chased one of Nick's colleagues Scott around the circle. Matthew was running after Scott, Scott turned linking his arm with another as Matthew went to tag him hitting him right in the "tenders". Scott groaned and bent over while everyone laughed. No one laughed harder than Scott's family. All in  all it was a great evening.
